Low or impaired vision can come with a variety of challenges that can affect your safety and independence. These can include difficulty with everyday activities such as navigation and mobility, using phones and other technology, cooking, and managing money and medications.

Fortunately, there is a multitude of resources that help many people live full, rich lives in relative safety, independence, and convenience. Nonprofit organization Prevent Blindness offers a host of resources through its Living Well With Low Vision program.

Living Well With Low Vision is offering a free webinar, “Introducing a New Low Vision Resource from Prevent Blindness” on November 16 from 6:00 to 6:45 pm (Eastern Time)

Moderated by R. Tracy Williams, O.D., FAAO, the webinar features speakers on such topics as:

  • How low vision is defined and what resources can ease the burden of vision loss
  • How to navigate the Living Well With Low Vision website and use it to the maximum benefit
  • Accessibility devices, services, and other resources for people with vision loss and for caregivers

Speakers include:

  • Virginia A. Jacko, President and CEO of Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired
  • Ken West, Senior Director of Communications at Prevent Blindness
  • Dan Roberts, Editor of Living Well With Low Vision and a patient advocate living with age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
