America Foundation for the Blind
Blindness research and advocacy group the American Foundation for the Blind is asking for visually impaired Americans to share their experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) is inviting U.S. adults who are blind, have low vision or are deaf-blind to share instances from the last 18 months in which their visual impairment intersected with their experience of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The survey project, entitled Journey Forward: Recovery from the COVID-19 Pandemic by Blind and Low Vision Adults, is a follow-up to the organization’s Flatten Inaccessibility study from April 2020 which explored the early impact of COVID-19 on Americans with visual impairment.
The survey, which takes about 30 to 45 minutes to complete, asks for such information as:
Completing and submitting the survey by August 9, 2021 makes you eligible to enter a drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card. Twenty respondents will be randomly selected.
The AFB intends to use the survey to improve access to care and resources for visually impaired Americans during national crises by sharing the collected data with government officials, agencies, companies, and partner organizations.
